At Paw Privileges, our mission is simple: to promote responsible breeding practices and support breeders who prioritize the health and well-being of animals. We aim to improve education surrounding responsible breeding and change the perception regarding breeders by recognizing and rewarding those who uphold ethical standards.
Our goal is to empower breeders to make a positive impact and provide pet parents with the resources and support they need to make informed decisions. Together, we can create a world where every animal is valued and loved.
In order to qualify for participation in our program, all breeders must:
- Have a legally binding return clause, Breeder assist that accompanies all contracts
- Do the minimum health testing ( Genetic DNA breed testing)
- Have Pennhip/OFA testing completed on all breeding dogs
- Provide lifetime support. Our responsibility does not end when the puppy goes home.
We highly encourage breeders to incorporate ENS, ESI and Temperament testing with assisted placement.
And it’s unfortunate that we have to say this, we do not support overbreeding of any dog. Breeders who are known to breeder 7/8 litters per Dam, will not be approved. We recommend no more than 4/5 and no older than the standard 7 years of age. Please visit our code of ethics if you have any questions.
If you are a ethical, responsible breeder, we welcome you! Together we can change the conversation and reward our owners for choosing responsible.
Submit your application below and please allow 48 hours for a response. Once approved, we will build out your breeder listing and have it live on our site within 7 business days.
We will be adding our App in March/April of 2025. Breeders will continue to have their profile/listing on responsiblebreeders.ca as well as on the app where you’ll be able to easily turn on a ‘available puppies’ notification. The App will be available to download for all, offers and services will be available to registered breeders and owners with the Paw Privileges Program.
